We all know the world is evolving at an ever growing pace. Spinning vinyl and even buying CDs is becoming a thing of the past, whereas downloads and YouTube links are the main platforms for sharing music, spreading tunes through the masses.
While our much loved record players and CD collections are left on our shelves largely for vintage display purposes, the sounds that once filled the room will never be forgotten. Different to today’s music, say 30 years ago, there were definite musical trends that, with certain make-up, hair (yikes!) and fashion, defined an era. During this time the world saw, what some would describe as a “peak” of some of the greatest musicians ever, including some seriously talented guitarists.
Of course, guitar is everywhere in today’s music, however, we owe it to the influencers of the past 40 years who epitomized its place in the world. Angus Young, Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton can’t even be placed in order of who is best, but that just depends on taste…Think back to your favourite classic guitar solo, what would it be?
